A free national training program is making AI accessible for every small business on Main Street.
If you read our recent article on the state of small business in Wyoming — [Still Standing, But Watching Closely: The State of Small Business in Wyoming] — you saw the numbers — 76% of small businesses are already using AI, and those who do report saving an average of five hours per week. The momentum is real. But for many Wyoming small businesses, especially those in rural communities or those who have never worked with technology this way before, knowing where to start is still the biggest barrier.
That barrier just got a lot lower.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Chamber Foundation, with support from Google, have launched Small Business B(AI)sics — a national training initiative designed to help 40,000 small businesses over the next three years learn how to put AI to work for them. The program offers both in-person and online training options, making it accessible for businesses across Wyoming regardless of location.
What the Program Offers
Small Business B(AI)sics includes a digital AI learning hub with easy-to-follow training modules, live and on-demand webinars, certification opportunities, and practical guides designed for business owners — not tech experts. The goal is straightforward: give entrepreneurs the tools, knowledge, and confidence to use AI in ways that save time, grow revenue, and stay competitive.
According to the U.S. Chamber's Empowering Small Business Technology Report, AI adoption among small businesses increased by 18% compared to 2024 and has more than doubled since 2023. Businesses using AI report that it helps them level the playing field with larger competitors, automate repetitive tasks like scheduling and customer follow-ups, and unlock growth through smarter marketing and more efficient operations. Why This Matters for Wyoming
Wyoming's small businesses make up nearly 99% of all businesses in the state and employ nearly two-thirds of the workforce. In a state where businesses often operate with lean teams and limited resources, tools that save time and improve efficiency aren't a luxury — they're a competitive necessity.
The program is particularly focused on reaching businesses in rural communities and first-time entrepreneurs who may feel uncertain about where to begin. That description fits a significant portion of Wyoming's business landscape. As U.S. Chamber President and CEO Suzanne P. Clark noted, "Together with Google and the U.S. Chamber Foundation, we are helping Main Street entrepreneurs embrace cutting-edge technology to make their companies stronger, more resilient, and more competitive." How to Get Started
Wyoming small business owners can access training modules, webinars, and resources directly through the U.S. Chamber's digital platform. No technical background required — the program is designed for business owners, not IT professionals.
