Your Wyoming Chamber of Commerce is proud to be at the forefront of a nationwide initiative focused on equipping today’s students with the skills, knowledge, and mindset they need to excel in tomorrow’s workforce. At the core of this effort is a powerful, shared vision: to build a stronger, future-ready workforce that can keep pace with the speed and complexity of modern business.
As part of this work, the Wyoming Chamber has partnered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, AP College Board, and fellow chambers and economic development organizations across the country to support the launch of a transformative new Advanced Placement (AP) course: AP Business with Personal Finance. This course is designed to introduce high school students to the fundamentals of business and financial literacy, ensuring they graduate with the skills employers value and the confidence to navigate their financial futures.
To bring this vision to life in our state, we’ve joined forces locally with the Wyoming Department of Education to launch Connecting Industry & Education: a statewide roadshow that will lay the foundation for a successful implementation of the course. These events will bring educators, business leaders, and community stakeholders together to explore how we can better prepare students for real-world success and align education with the needs of Wyoming’s economy.
This work couldn’t come at a more critical moment. Across the nation, millions of jobs remain unfilled because graduates lack the practical skills employers demand. AP Business with Personal Finance directly addresses this challenge by closing the gap between classroom learning and career readiness.
Introducing AP Business with Personal Finance
Launching in the 2026–27 school year, this innovative course combines project-based learning, real-world case studies, and an industry-recognized credential to prepare students for both higher education and the workforce. Students will:
Gain a foundational understanding of how businesses operate and create value
Explore customer behavior and market competition
Learn essential personal finance skills to support sound decision-making
This course doesn’t just prepare students for college, it prepares them for life. And it sends a powerful signal to future employers: these students are ready to contribute on day one.
Wyoming Takes the Lead
As national momentum grows, Wyoming is taking decisive action to bring this opportunity home. Our Connecting Industry & Education Roadshow will introduce the AP Business with Personal Finance course to communities statewide and highlight how business-education partnerships can strengthen local talent pipelines and drive economic growth.
Dates and locations for the roadshow will be announced soon. Once released, we encourage interested attendees to contact their local chamber for more information. Those interested in sponsoring the series or a specific stop on the roadshow should contact the Wyoming Chamber of Commerce directly.
Looking Ahead
This is more than just a new course. It’s a movement to ensure that every Wyoming student has access to meaningful, career-connected learning, and that every Wyoming employer has access to a skilled, prepared workforce.
Your Wyoming Chamber remains committed to championing forward-thinking, pro-business solutions that invest in our students, support our educators, and strengthen our communities. Together, we’re not just preparing students for the future, we’re helping shape it.
