Harvest Midstream Invests $1 Billion in Wyoming Energy Infrastructure

ree

Houston-based Harvest Midstream has signed a $1 billion agreement to acquire MPLX’s natural gas gathering and processing network across the Uinta and Green River basins, marking its first major investment in Wyoming.

The deal includes approximately 1,500 miles of pipelines and facilities with a combined processing capacity of 845 million cubic feet per day across Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Harvest officials confirmed the deal will bring the company into Wyoming for the first time, with plans to maintain uninterrupted service while evaluating staffing, tax impacts, and opportunities for future expansion.

WY It Matters

Wyoming’s economy has always been powered by energy, and this $1 billion investment underscores the state’s continued role as a national leader in natural gas production. For Wyoming businesses, this acquisition represents a catalyst for long-term progress.

With investment like this, Wyoming can be on the front line of the energy solution. But, as mentioned before, we need the infrastructure, permitting, and people to make it happen.
