Wyoming Chamber and Local Chambers to Host Statewide Civics Competition Again in 2026

September 11, 2025

Cheyenne, WY –– The Wyoming Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 National Civics Bee Wyoming Regional Competitions. This nonpartisan civics competition gives Wyoming’s 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students the chance to showcase their knowledge of civics, develop ideas to strengthen their communities, and compete for recognition and cash prizes.

Regional competitions will be hosted by the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, Casper Area Chamber of Commerce, Thermopolis Hot-Springs Chamber of Commerce, and Elevate Glenrock. Finalists from these regional events will advance to the National Civics Bee Wyoming State Finals, with the winner going on to represent Wyoming at the National Civics Bee National Championship in Washington, D.C. in Fall 2026 for a chance at the grand cash prize.

The Wyoming Chamber of Commerce is proud to host this event because we believe that informed and engaged citizens are the foundation of a strong country, economy, and workforce. The Bee not only builds civic knowledge, but also inspires young people to play an active role in shaping the future of their communities and our state.

“Civic engagement is at the heart of strong communities, and the National Civics Bee gives Wyoming students the chance to see just how much their ideas can shape the future. By participating, these young leaders are not only competing, they’re learning how their voices and actions can make a lasting impact for Wyoming and beyond.” - Dale Steenbergen, President & CEO, Wyoming Chamber of Commerce
