Will AI Power the Next Generation of Energy Workers?

ree

A Casper-based startup, MNVR (pronounced “maneuver”), is tackling one of Wyoming’s biggest workforce challenges: the rapid retirement of experienced oil and gas workers. They’re aiming to do so with cutting-edge artificial intelligence.

MNVR, which officially launched on October 1, aims to capture decades of hands-on knowledge from veteran operators and translate it into AI-driven “digital twins” that can detect issues, prevent costly downtime, and help new workers perform like seasoned pros. The technology monitors field systems in real time, predicting failures before they happen and offering smart insights rooted in decades of field experience. By merging the wisdom of Wyoming’s workforce with the power of AI, MNVR hopes to keep the state’s energy sector efficient, competitive, and future-ready.

WY It Matters: As seasoned workers retire and technology evolves, Wyoming must be ready to adapt and build the next generation of leaders.

To keep these kinds of homegrown startups here, we must strengthen the bridge between education and industry, ensuring students see clear pathways from classroom to career. That means more apprenticeships, internships, and mentorships that prepare young workers for Wyoming’s evolving energy economy.

We must also empower entrepreneurs and innovators by expanding access to capital, startup support, and professional networks.

And most importantly, we must advocate for smart, pro-business policies that make it easier to build, hire, and innovate in Wyoming. That includes streamlining regulation, improving infrastructure, and supporting the quality-of-life investments that help our communities thrive and retain talent.
