Your Wyoming Chamber of Commerce, together with chambers across the state—including the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce, Casper Area Chamber of Commerce, Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, Platte County Chamber of Commerce, Riverton Chamber and Visitors Center, Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce, and the Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce—has joined a national coalition urging Congress to take meaningful, bipartisan action on permitting reform.
Our message is clear: America needs a modernized permitting system that empowers communities to build the infrastructure essential for growth, innovation, and long-term prosperity.
From expanding broadband and upgrading transportation, to modernizing water systems and developing innovative energy facilities, businesses are ready to invest. Yet too often, outdated and inefficient permitting processes stall progress, driving up costs and delaying the benefits of safer roads, reliable power, clean water, and high-speed internet access.
In our letter to Congress, Wyoming chambers stood united on four guiding principles for reform:
Predictability: Clear timelines and certainty for project developers and financers.
Efficiency: Better interagency coordination to reduce delays and maximize resources.
Transparency: Public visibility into permitting milestones and project schedules.
Stakeholder Input: Opportunities for meaningful input from communities and businesses.
These reforms aren’t just bureaucratic tweaks, they’re the key to unlocking projects that create jobs, strengthen local economies, and improve quality of life in Wyoming and across the country.
Now, it’s up to Congress to act. Communities across Wyoming are ready to build, the only thing standing in the way is an outdated system.
