Wyoming Energy Leadership Meets Cyber Security and Resilience

As Wyoming accelerates its leadership in powering America, from traditional coal and gas to cutting-edge nuclear and renewables, a new frontier is emerging: protecting that power.
Behind every power grid, pipeline, wind turbine, and refinery is a digital backbone increasingly targeted by cyber threats. That’s why the Wyoming Chamber of Commerce, through our Powering Progress initiative, is leading the charge to safeguard our energy infrastructure, strengthen our workforce, and defend Wyoming’s economy.
We’re proud to spotlight cutting-edge partnerships like those with Idaho National Laboratory (INL), where industry professionals and students engage in hands-on simulations to prepare for real-world cyberattacks. Think high-stakes "escape rooms" designed not for fun, but for fortifying critical systems.
Equally impressive is Laramie County Community College’s NSA-designated cybersecurity program—the only one in the state. This national recognition proves Wyoming can compete with the best, training students for careers in energy, government, and tech sectors where cyber expertise is mission-critical.
WY It Matters
From oil and gas crews stress-testing their control systems at INL, to students launching awareness campaigns with the CyberWyoming Alliance, Wyoming is proving that energy leadership and cybersecurity go hand-in-hand.
Your Wyoming Chamber is committed to giving our businesses and workforce the tools, training, and support they need to lead in both. Because in today’s world, cybersecurity is economic security, and as we fuel the nation, we’re defending the future that powers it.
